Data Centre Decommissioning

Major changes in your data centre require detailed planning by experienced engineers.  If you are decommissioning, building or relocating we can help.  You can expect complete and accurate asset tracking with a robust plan for well-coordinated parallel activities and a quick turnaround.

We hold ourselves accountable for your business continuity and data security.  Our team will be on-site to manage server decommissioning, uninstalling IT assets from racks, removing cables, power harnesses and racks.

If required, asset resale can be arranged.  Environmentally responsible reuse, recycling or disposal of retired equipment can also be arranged.

We manage the whole project throughout.  This is how we do it:

Data Centre Decommissioning

Physical Inventory

A complete and detailed audit is conducted. This service ensures accurate IT asset manifests are created and verified before any assets can be identified for removal and disposal.  This allows for end to end tracking.

Our technical team comes on on-site to manage decommissioning.  We remove IT assets from racks, disconnect cables and remove racks and ancillary devices as required.

Data Destruction

In order to keep you compliant with your contractual data regulations we offer several data destruction options.   All data is eradicated from all hard drives and dedicated storage devices on any data bearing asset.

Decommissioned assets are prepared for removal and disposal as per your directives.  All assets are prepared for reuse, resale or recycling ensuring your contractual requirements are met.

Asset Recovery

Some assets can be redeployed, resold or recycled. This service may provide you significant value recovery.  This benefit can help offset the cost of decommissioning, data destruction and relocation.

Assets that are deemed beyond recovery are forwarded to 3rd party vendors for certified environmentally responsible recycling. Regardless of the disposition or resales of assets, each is tracked end to end throughout the project.
